A world-leading publisher which has been in existence for over 100 years is looking to hire a new Head of HR for Japan. It has been growing its businesses through mergers, acquisitions business diversifications, and is known in the market as one of the most innovative and progressive players in its field. The Japan business is worth approximately US$300 Million per year.

An opportunity has arisen for a senior HR talent to joing the company to lead the function in Japan. Based in Tokyo you will look after the whole spectrum of HR for its two Japanese offices. With a business population of around 200 staff you will be responsible for the day to day HR leadership of the office as well as the overall strategic direction of the companys people development policies, supported by a virtual team of specialists based overseas.

You will be an HR leader with a strong background in generalist HR. You will have had a long background in reporting to a regional HR Director based overseas and be accustomed to international exposure. Ideally you will also have had responsibilities for multiple office locations in Japan. You should have the flexibility needed to work with creative and talented people, as well as the determination to stand up for your opinions in an articulate and communicative fashion.
